Starting in the early '60's, the P1800's had a unique history starting with their Italian body design roots by Italian coach builder Pietro Frua, but actually designed by one of his students, Swede Pelle Petterson.Fast forward to '71 and Volvo decides to unveil its 1.5 year ('71-'73) production run of 1800ES' designed by Volvo's in-house chief designer Jan Wilsgaard... Building on Petterson's original P1800 coupe design and turning it into the grand touring 'ES' shooting brake.
