These W113's, as they were code named by engineers at the factory, are iconic among classic convertibles due to their lift-off 'Pagoda' hardtop along with the short but wide wheelbase that offered excellent handling for their time.The 280's were the final evolution of the W113 chassis which began in 1963 with the production of the 230SL's.
