- Introduced at the November 1966 Turin Show, the Fiat 124 Sport Spider was designed by American stylist Tom Tjaarda for Pininfarina under design director Franco Martinengo and the legendary Battista Pininfarina. Based upon a monocoque bodyshell, the 124 Sport Spider recalled Tjaarda's Corvette Rondine show car and his handsome Ferrari 275 GTS. Delivering great handling and a decidedly sporty drive to match its clean and striking bodylines, the 124 Spider enjoyed a long production run and strong demand from committed driving enthusiasts.
